To all those who have followed us from the start, who talk to us on Instagram, and have followed our transformation into an online perfumery house, you know how much we wanted to meet you at our own Perfume workshops. You have understood our model which, thanks to digital technology, allows us to offer you fragrances of unprecedented luxury at affordable prices, far from the standardization of mainstream perfumery, and the snobbery of niche perfumery.
Being a fully digital brand was an obvious for us, as it allowed us to save on an expensive point of sale for a young house, and on the huge distributor margins. Above all, it was also a way to be in direct contact with those who matter most to us: you. Our model has allowed us to meet you, to have discussions and exchange comments, anecdotes, declarations of love, and other little gestures. It’s these interactions that have allowed us to grow, move forward, and sometimes branch off on paths that we hadn’t envisaged. Sillages Paris is a house that we are building together, to bring perfumery into the 21st century.
Opening our perfume workshops: a dream come true!
The opening of the Sillages Paris perfume workshops to the public is the beginning of a new and very important chapter for us. We have dreamed of this moment ever since we embarked on this adventure because these workshops will allow us to put faces behind the Instagram messages and orders on our site!
At Sillages Paris, all of our perfumes are handcrafted and made to order in our Parisian workshops. Here, our perfumers design new formulas to offer you even more personalization. And we carefully keep the hundreds of formulas they have already created. Located in the Jacques Viguès courtyard, a heritage courtyard in a secret passage on the rue de Charonne in the 11th arrondissement, our workshops are now equipped with a “lounge” where we can finally welcome you! By making an appointment on our website, everyone can now come and discover the rarest raw materials in perfumery, and compose their own Sillage with the help of our experts.
Finally welcome our beloved customers
Many of you have asked to visit our workshops since the beginning. There is a lot of curiosity and interest around the art of perfumery, but few brands talk about it. We wanted to change that, and have made it our mission to share the secrets of Haute Parfumerie with everyone.
We deeply believe in the nobility of perfume, but we also know that perfumes are sensitive creations made from ingredients that are familiar to our senses. Since the beginning, our ambition has been to “coach” the noses of all our customers, to teach them to appreciate the finesse of the compositions, and to define for themselves the scents they like the most. It’s now a done deal!
An perfume amateur’s dream : a unique experience at our perfume workshops
So we took the ingredient organ out of the perfumers’ laboratory to give the public access, for the first time outside a museum, to all the pure raw materials that make up our perfumes (the first time it’s been done outside a museum!). Oud, iris, patchouli, jasmine, May rose, pink berries, tuberose… Just a few of our 64 (!) natural ingredients, among the most beautiful in the world, and our synthetic notes (which reproduce notes impossible to extract from nature), are accessible to everyone interested in discovering the richness of the olfactory world.
But we didn’t just install a traditional organ. Sillages Paris was born with the ambition to revolutionize Haute Parfumerie, to make it more luxurious, but also more fun. That’s why we believed an organ built around a solitary perfumer’s chair wouldn’t do the trick.
Organ 3.0.
We deconstructed the organ to materialize it into a constellation of vials scattered in space. The organ is no longer a solitary piece of work furniture: it is a space of experience and discovery in which one walks around, moving from one scent to another, like a pretty little bee on the flowers of a hanging garden.
We created this experience, the only one of its kind in the world, to make the discovery of scents more magical and stimulating. We hope that by smelling all these ingredients that make up your perfumes, your senses will be refined to identify and freely choose the scents that resonate with you.
But of course, the idea is not to abandon yourself among the scents! After making an appointment to visit the workshops, our experts will be at your side to compose your perfume using our formulas, and to reveal the secrets of Haute Parfumerie. We will always be there to offer advice and help you create your perfect perfume.
How does it work ?
You don’t want to find your formula online ? Make an appointment to compose your perfume on-site at our workshops, and then choose from among the hundreds of formulas created by our perfumers!
You will be able to select your ingredients on our Ipad while you wander through the organ containing 64 raw materials. You can then sit down in the lounge, where our expert will show you your formula. If it doesn’t suit you, other compositions created by our perfumers will be proposed to you. You will then leave with your perfume, made directly on-site!
